Mizuma Art Gallery opened in Tokyo in 1994. Since then it has continuously presented artists from Japan and the surrounding regions, whose works transcend the fleeting stylistic trends. Together with internationally exhibited artists, the gallery continues to introduce emerging voices to the global scene.Matching the rapid expansion of Asia’s contemporary art market, Mizuma Art Gallery opened additional space in Singapore’s Gillman Barracks in 2012. In 2014 the artist residency space “Rumah Kijang Mizuma” opened in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to support exchanges between local and Japanese artists. For most recent expansion, a gallery space was opened in New York’s Lower East Side in 2018. Mizuma Art Gallery participates regularly in global fairs including Art Basel (Hong Kong and Miami), Armory (New York), Art Stage Singapore, and Art Taipei. For 2019, the gallery celebrated 25th year anniversary as being a unique force for international development of contemporary artists from diverse aesthetic background.
