Since opening in 1997, Goya Contemporary has collaborated with, and represents, a wide range of Post War & Contemporary artists on the worldwide market as both a gallery and a publisher. Over the years Goya has hosted exhibitions of recent works and historical surveys featuring Louise Bourgeois, Joyce J. Scott, Ann Hamilton, Louise Fishman, Sanford Biggers, Liliana Porter, Lynda Benglis, Christian Marclay, Sam Gilliam, Jo Smail, Timothy App, Sergio Sister, Louisa Chase, DJ Spooky, Yayoi Kusama, Soledad Salame, Fanny Sanin, Josef Albers, Evelyn Hofer, William Kentridge, Betty Cooke, Sonya Clark, Wilhelm Mundt, Mark Strand, Per Kirkeby, Rosy Keyser, Lynn Silverman, Kyle Hackett, Ana Tiscornia, among others. Championing artists of exceptional quality who happen to also often represent black, brown, & female voices, Goya is dedicated to scholarly programming which fosters the work of mid-career artists. Known for our high standard of ethics, we specialize in building private & public collections, facilitate accessions and deaccession, manage artist's careers, and liaison with primary auction houses. The gallery has mounted solo exhibitions in museums and in our own two gallery spaces, designed by the award winning architecture firm Ziger/Snead. Acting as the primary representation for celebrated artists who have achieved accolades and awards such as MacArthur Fellowships and honorary doctorates, our directors also sit on boards & advisory committee's moving Baltimore into a top position of important cultural investigation w/an eye on social justice initiatives in art.
