About

Saša Marčeta Gallery

Saša Marčeta Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based within Bioskop Balkan – Space for Contemporary Art, a major exhibition venue located in the cultural heart of Belgrade, neighboring the National Museum and the National Theatre.

Housed in a former historic cinema, Bioskop Balkan has been transformed into a dynamic platform for contemporary artistic production and presentation. Spanning nearly 800 square meters across four architecturally distinctive halls, the venue offers exceptional conditions for exhibitions ranging from painting and sculpture to multimedia installations and site-specific projects.

Saša Marčeta Gallery is dedicated to promoting established and emerging contemporary artists from Serbia and the wider Southeast European region. The gallery's program focuses on artistic practices that address questions of memory, identity, cultural transformation, and the complex historical narratives that continue to shape contemporary societies. Alongside internationally recognized artists, the gallery actively supports younger generations of practitioners, fostering new perspectives and encouraging experimentation across disciplines.

Through carefully curated exhibitions, participation in international art fairs, and long-term collaborations with artists, institutions, and collectors, Saša Marčeta Gallery seeks to contribute to a broader understanding of contemporary art from the region while creating meaningful dialogue between local and global artistic contexts.

Operating within Bioskop Balkan, the gallery benefits from a unique environment that brings together ambitious exhibitions, critical discourse, and innovative artistic practices, positioning Belgrade as an increasingly important destination on the international contemporary art map.
For Art Miami, Saša Marčeta Gallery presents works by Aleksandar Dimitrijević, Andrej Bijelić, and Petar Mirković, three artists whose practices embody distinct yet complementary approaches to image-making. Bijelić's paintings evoke the spontaneity and imaginative freedom of a childlike gaze, Mirković's hyperrealist drawings demonstrate extraordinary technical precision and observational depth, while Dimitrijević's abstract works investigate the transformation of everyday visual structures into powerful painterly compositions. Through these diverse artistic languages, the presentation highlights the enduring capacity of contemporary art to communicate across cultural boundaries, offering works that are both visually striking and conceptually engaging.
