Juan O'Gorman was an artist of Irish descent, born in Mexico. He was active as a painter and architect and highly influenced by Le Corbusier (functionalism). His paintings are characterized by the presiceness of the construction of buildings and landscapes because of his architectural background. O'Gorman studied architecture at the San Carlos academy & UNAM in Mexico City. He decorated the UNAM building in Mexico City and designed Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera’s house and studio in the San Ángel neighborhood in the South of Mexico City.
