Tim Hailand was born in Buffalo, New York in 1965 and studied at Parsons School of Design, New York. He was awarded a studio residency at Kaus Australis in Rotterdam; a Claude Monet Giverny/Versailles Studio Residency; a residency at Robert Rauschenberg Studio, Captiva Island, Florida; as well as The World Views Studio Program, World Trade Center, New York. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally and his work is included in many public and private collections, including The Guggenheim Museum, MOMA Archives, Norton Museum of Art, and The Progressive Collection. In 2014, he collaborated with architect Peter Marino, creating an entire Toile de Jouy room for the Dior flagship store in Tokyo. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, El Pais, Intelligent Life, Visionaire, V Man, Gala, OK, Frieze, and Artforum Magazine, as well as personally published photo books. His work was most recently published in "Peter Marino: Art Architecture" (Phaidon) and artist Marina Abramovic’s memoir "Walk Through Walls" (Crown Archetype). He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
