    Biography : Christian Chaize, a self-taught artist, lives and works in Lyon, France. In 1992, he was awarded the Prix European Panorama de Kodak for Young European Photographer in Arles, France. In 2004, Chaize became intrigued by a small stretch of coastline in southern Portugal. Itching an artistic scratch, he began shooting what was then an entirely new subject matter for him. Using medium and large format cameras, his commitment to photographing a single beach front several times a year since then is now evident in the series, Praia Piquinia. This work has been the focus of two one-man museum shows in Portugal, as well as gallery exhibitions in New York, Berlin, and Lyon. Among other publications, it has been featured in The Collector’s Guide to New Art Photography Vol. 2, BLINK MAGAZINE, Issue No. 13, and Elle Decor.

    Biography : Mona Kuhn was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1969, of German descent. She earned her degree in the United States from Ohio State University. Since 1998, she has been an independent studies scholar at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. Her work has been exhibited, and is included in public and private collections, internationally and in the United States. Kuhn’s first monograph, Photographs, was debut by Steidl in 2004; immediately followed by, Evidence, published by Steidl and released in Spring 2007. The images appearing in Evidence were photographed entirely in France, where she resides each summer. Her latest book Native (Steidl, 2010) is an unfolding visual story with images taken in her native country Brazil. Mona Kuhn has lectured about her work at the Cincinnati Art Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, Georgia Museum of Art, Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego and the International Center of Photography in NYC. Currently, Mona lives and works in Los Angeles.

    Biography : Jeannette Montgomery Barron was born in 1956 in Atlanta Georgia and studied at the International Center of Photography in New York. She became known for her portraits of the New York art world in the 1980s, which were later published in Jeannette Montgomery Barron (Edition Bischofberger, Zurich, 1989). Next, a collection of her still life photographs entitled Photographs and Poems, collaboration with Pulitzer Prize winning poet Jorie Graham was published by Scalo (1998). Her following series of work, Mirrors, was published by Holzwarth Editions (2004), and includes a text by the celebrated author Edmund White. In 2006 Holzwarth Editions also published her book, Session with Keith Haring, twenty photographs taken by Montgomery Barron in Haring’s studio one afternoon in 1985.Jeannette Montgomery Barron was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1956 and studied at the International Center of Photography in New York.

    Exhibition : Her works are in numerous public and corporate collections, including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Kunsthaus Zurich and The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh. Jeannette Montgomery Barron's work has been shown internationally at Galerie Bruno Bischofberger, Zurich, Scalo, New York and Zurich, Jackson Fine Art, Atlanta, Magazzino D’Arte Moderna, Rome and ClampArt in New York.

    Detailed Description : In her book, My Mother's Clothes, Montgomery Barron created a poignant and enduring portrait of her late mother through still life images of her cherished clothing, shoes, and personal possessions. As her mother's struggle with Alzheimer's progressed, robbing her of any remembered past, Montgomery Barron began this unique visual album as a way of both sparking her mother's memories, and coping with her own sense of loss. Her most recent book, Scene, is a collection of portraits of artists, musicians and writers living in New York City during the 1980's.

    Biography : Andrew Moore was born 1957 in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Throughout Andrew Moore’s 35-year photographic career, he has positioned himself at the forefront of contemporary photography, capturing places of historical significance in all of their beauty and squalor. He teaches in the Photography M.F.A. program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His work is represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Library of Congress, the Israel Museum, the High Museum, the Eastman House and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. Moore has been the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, The New York State Council on the Arts, and several private foundations.

    Biography : In Jack Spencer's first body of work, Native Soil, he traveled across the southern U.S. Since then he has traveled the country and into Mexico, always allowing life to lead him to his next series. Working in St. Augustine, Florida, a pastel palette makes his new photographs feel similar to watercolor paintings. Jack Spencer was born in Mississippi and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Jack is a self-taught photographer who attended Louisiana Tech University. Vanderbilt Press recently published his newest book, Beyond the Surface.

    Exhibition : His work is in many collections including: The Houston Museum of Fine Art, Berkley Museum of Art, and Sir Elton John’s Photography Collection and he is represented by leading contemporary photography galleries throughout the United States.
