Pedro Coronel (Mexico 3-25-1923 - Mexico 5-23-1985)

Pedro Coronel studied painting and sculpture in Mexico. He went to Paris in the 1940s where he followed artistic lessons by Constantin Brancusi, which would influence his future work. His oeuvre can be characterized by the use of simplified and abstract forms and the colors in his works represent pre-Hispanic and primitive art. Coronel's works have been exhibited in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States.
