Kati Horna was a photographer whose work can be characterized by the Surreal. Horna was interested in left wing politics, she lived several years in Paris, and moved to Spain to depict the Spanish Civil War. Horna moved to Mexico during the end of the 1930s where she got in contact with the Surrealist European émigré artists who were forced to leave Europe because of the Second World War. Horna was highly inspired by Mexican culture, she would stay to work and live in Mexico until her death.
