Gregory Nangle’s work is clean and precise yet bears the marks of the maker in the handmade idiosyncrasies of each piece. Nangle owns and operates Outcast Studios, a 10,000 sq. ft. space, dedicated to bronze casting and glass bending in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nangle attended Tyler School of Art and The Hartford Art School, where he studied glass and metals. Nangle was assistant to Mark Ferguson in Brooklyn New York, and at The New York Experimental Glass Workshop before attending the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Nangle explores the intersection of geometry and natural forms within his designs. His work juxtaposes Minimalist geometry with forms or essences derived from nature. He founded Outcast Studios in 2000.
